NevadaSYSTEM is electronic music built at the collision of ancient breath instruments and modern club culture — a sound that has landed on Nora En Pure’s Enormous Tunes and Cafe De Anatolia, earned Spotify editorial placement, and drawn live support from ARTBAT, Korolova, Sultan + Shepard, and Richie Hawtin, with releases alongside Nihil Young, Into the Ether, and Alex Breitling.

The name comes from years spent in the Nevada desert. Every morning, 4am, driving out into the dark before the sky changed. Then down into the mines. Nothing in any direction — no city, no noise, no version of home. That kind of absence does something to you. It’s where the music started.

The instruments came from the same instinct. Not a genre, not a gimmick — a collection of things that make sound from breath alone, gathered from the world’s high and empty places. The Chinese xiao. The Japanese shakuhachi. The moseño and pinkillo from the Bolivian altiplano, four thousand metres up. The Native American flute out of the desert Southwest. Different continents, same conditions: thin air, hard ground, distance in every direction.

He plays them himself, recorded at Vasa Studios one take at a time.

Most club music finds you through the body first. NevadaSYSTEM finds you somewhere else — the flute is the entry point, melody before groove, feeling before floor. By the time the analog weight drops, you’re already inside it. Heavy enough to move a dark room at peak time. Made for 4am and empty roads.

Home changes like a river. You carry the old version like a frequency no one else can hear. NevadaSYSTEM is built from that: the in-between that slowly becomes its own kind of home. The work is made now at the edge of the same country the music keeps describing — flat, wide, unlit for a long way in every direction.

For the travelers, the scavengers, the wandering saints. For everyone carrying a place that no longer exists.
